Cults of the Roman Occupation: The Impact of Roman Religion on Celtic England

The Roman occupation of Celtic England brought about many changes to the indigenous population, including the introduction of new religious beliefs and practices. One aspect of this cultural shift was the emergence of various cults, which developed alongside the Roman religion and had a significant impact on the spiritual beliefs of the Celtic people. One of the most notable cults to emerge during this time was the cult of the mother goddess, known as the Matres or Matronae.
